Hi everybody! My latest blog post is progression photos of an amateur ‘African animals’ amateur marker pen original art 💙💙 Hope you enjoy!
I started out sketching the outlines of my African animals; giraffe, elephant, lion, rhino and buffalo.. the style of drawing is like subjects from art therapy books; pretty, brightly coloured, patterned and detailed 😀 As well as colouring the animals vibrantly with marker pens, I bordered the subjects with a black marker pen to make them stand out and ‘pop’ 🥰
I would love to visit Africa and do a safari/ construction and renovation volunteering in Zambia.. I feel like Africa is really special 💙 hence why I decided to do this artwork 😜
My next project is an amateur portrait drawing of a wonderful woman Joan who passed away three years ago.. she was my mum’s best friend and a god send, helping me look after mum (my mum has early onset alzheimers) 😢 I have stayed in contact with Joan’s husband Merv, that’s who the portrait is for..I will maybe draw her dog too Spencer, she adored dogs..I thought that would be a nice thing to do 💕
Thank you again for taking the time to read/view.. lots of love, Lauren xx
Hi everyone! My latest UnicornPostbox blog post is progression photos of an enchanted forest diamond art 💎🎨 Hope you like!
It was so much fun doing this diamond art! They are so time consuming (took me a few weeks) but so therapeutic and enjoyable 😄
I have another previous diamond art I am trying to sell with this one, to go towards my fundraising for Alzheimer’s Society (I’m doing a paraglide in the Peak District)..my sister bought me another elephant diamond art too to complete next 💕
Here is the finished art piece…
I am quite proud of this, and looking forward to doing the next diamond art!
Next, however, I am planning on drawing a portrait as it’s sooooo long since I’ve done so…I won’t detail who I am drawing as it is a surprise present for a friend who may read this..haha 😆 But yeah, keep a look out 😜
Hi fellow bloggers / followers, my latest blog post is progression photos of a cosmic wolf diamond (crystal) art, with over 6500 jewels. I hope you like…
With there being over 6500 jewels, you can imagine it’s very time consuming to complete a diamond art; it is however greatly therapeutic. It’s lovely to put my music on and enjoy the creative process. Moreover, it is deeply satisfying once the art piece is complete. I donated it to the Children’s Air Ambulance 🙂 🙂 Here is Casper!
I’ll look now at purchasing some more diamond arts, either from the Range again or online…
My third upcycling project for the Children’s Air Ambulance is a storage book I mentioned previously, to which I’ve already decoupaged and painted. So watch this space! Likewise, I’m going to get knitting hats / scalves etc for refugees, I think that’ll be a lovely thing to do 🙂 🙂
As always, thanks so much for reading /viewing 🙂
You may not know but I have actually been in a mental health hospital for the last four and a half months. I’m doing much better thank goodness; I thought it would be nice to share though some of my promarker pen amateur art therapy drawings I’ve produced whilst being a patient, and to offer a brief description of what inspired each piece. I do hope you enjoy!
I took inspiration for this cat piece from some art therapy books I already owned. The symmetry with the mushrooms, trees and butterflies and the blue/pink colour scheme is supposed to visually depict equality and togetherness.
This abstract quirky piece depicts looking at the world with eyes of love and promoting peaceful protest.
My two giraffes are boosting upwards off the yellow brick road towards Emerald City (I can relate to all the characters in the Wizard of Oz and I am considering a full leg sleeve tattoo haha).
This is art from great imagination if I may say so, haha. It’s Christmas themed and was started for the ward unique Christmas card competition. There’s a time traveling santa ‘Ho Ho’ sack, a mushroom / tea pot house, pouring green tea where a few people are zorbing. There is also a purple mother mountain, with people and unicycle trees tobogganing down her hair. Tiny snowmen and cute gnomes and everyone flying in the air like Iron man superheroes!
This is my tree of life, with quirky people who are also little tree houses living on each branch. There are blue circles up towards heaven with writing above saying ‘heaven is a place on Earth’. I hopefully envision a future where our planet becomes a utopia; where we come together in solidarity to tackle climate change and establish a better appreciation of and connectivity with nature.
This piece is inspired by The Lion King, where Mufasa encourages Simba to remember ‘who he is’ – the rightful aire to the throne (pride rock). I strongly believe that our actions in our lifetime matter, and we therefore have a responsibility to be and strive always to be, our best selves.
Here is a dark skinned goddess with elephant arms meditating on a mandala. There is a temple (and wind turbine) doorway to the right and to the left a tipee with banner swaying, saying ‘Blessed be the peacemakers).
And last, but certainly not least, is my colourful tiger. There are ‘eye of the tiger’ lyrics. This drawing seeks to symbolise tenacity. Life isn’t about how many times you get knocked down, but how fiercely you stand up and put your gloves back on, like the god/goddess YOU are!
