‘Georgina the giraffe’ amateur pub painting

Hi everyone! My latest UnicornPostbox blog post is progression photos of a cute giraffe πŸ¦’ Hope you enjoy! 😁

We started off with yellow acrylic paint for the long giraffe neck. Then, we lightly outlined the shape of the giraffe head and ossicones (posh technical term for horns, ha!) We filled this with colour. At this point the painting looked kind of like a yellow ogre! 🀣 Quite a few others, especially newbies, started commenting ‘Oh no, what’s happening here?’ with regard to their painting. Me and my friend Denise just said ‘don’t worry, trust the process’ 😁 We then used brown paint for the famous spots, and ears etc and a base for the eyes. Next, I added watery brown shading to certain areas, and contrastingly defined lines in black. I think the most adorable aspect of ‘Georgina’ however is her gorgeous heavily painted and flicked eyelashes 😍 What a beauty! And here is the finished amateur art piece…

To be honest, this is my favourite of all the pub paintings I’ve done! I think ‘Georgina’ is a very pretty giraffe πŸ¦’πŸ¦’ I can’t wait for the next one next month. It hasn’t been announced yet what the theme will be, so just keep a look out 😜

I think my next blog post will be a ‘Stitch’ Disney diamond art πŸ’ŽπŸŽ¨ I am doing for my lovely friend Chelsea

Thank you as ever for taking the time to read/view. Much appreciated, thank you, Lauren xx

‘Timothy and Tina – two turtles’ amateur pub painting

Hi everyone! My latest UnicornPostbox blog post is progression photos of two amateur turtles, pub painting.. hope you enjoy! πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

We started off with a complete navy blue background πŸ’™ incorporating at the top white and light blue shimmer streaks to replicate the sunlight shimmering down…The ocean floor bed was silhouetted with dark blue/black… Then dark green seaweed was added, highlighted with white… Also fluorescent glow in the dark pink and orange coral/clams/shells were introduced, really cool! 😎 After black silhouettes, hexagonal shapes were outlined on the turtle shells 🐒 the features more defined with dark green / light blue shimmer and white to illustrate where the light touches 🐒… and here is the finished painting…

I realise I’m not the best painter in the world, but I find it very therapeutic. I’m so glad our pub painting art teacher is back! (Since the start of the year, she was teaching art on a world cruise with her fiance, living the dream!) It’s very sociable the pub painting sessions, me and my friend Denise love it πŸ˜€

The next pub painting in May is a giraffe πŸ¦’ I’m well looking forward to it because I love giraffes! πŸ¦’ Becca is also going to offer a free oil painting introduction soon too and her fiance, photography lessons, so that’ll be fantastic! πŸ˜„πŸ’•πŸ’•

I also have a couple of diamond arts to start; one of ‘stitch’ (lilo and stitch) for my friend Chelsea and a gorgeous sunset diamond art πŸ’Ž 🎨 So watch this space!

Thank you as always for reading/ viewing..much love, Lauren xx

‘Philippe the peacock’ amateur pub painting progression photos

Hi everyone! 😊 My latest blog post is progression photos of an amateur peacock painting…hope you enjoy!

We started off with a pale green background. White paint lines then to separate the future feathers. A blue body, complimenting the blue eyed feathers. Gold shimmer to give a little sophistication and a light blue shimmer crest above the head.

It was really enjoyable this pub painting. As always the artist Becca guided us step-by-step.. me and my friend Denise had a cheeky dark fruit or two πŸ˜›

The next pub painting is a black cat with witch’s hat for Halloween πŸŽƒ I can’t wait, it’ll be fantastic, I love Halloween!

My next blog post may be a diamond art as I am on with a ‘tree of life’ one, so watch this space!

Thank you as always for reading/viewing.. much love, Lauren xx

‘Lucian the Lion’ amateur acrylic pub painting

Hi everyone! My latest UnicornPostbox blog post is progression photos of an amateur acrylic lion painting, painted at pub painting… hope you like! πŸ’•πŸ’•

We started out sketching the facial features with watered down paint. From there, we began the brown mane, a cream for the face, and layered cream onto the brown mane. We used a fantastic glow in the dark orange paint to really add character and expressiveness. White whiskers, black and gold shimmer eyes, gold shimmer in the mane and… shazam! 🦁🦁

I think this one is one of the most technical and challenging pub paintings, with quite a lot of detail to incorporate… but the end result isn’t too shabby! 🦁🦁

The next pub painting is a colourful peacock, so really looking forward to doing that one! I’m also on with a ‘tree of life’ diamond art, and perhaps some upcycling projects!

Thank you so much as ever for reading/viewing!

Catch you soon, Lauren xx

‘Flowery meadow’ amateur acrylic painting

Hello everyone! My latest UnicornPostbox blog post is progression photos of an amateur flowery meadow pub painting, enjoy! πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

The first step was to paint dark emerald green at the bottom and fade it going up. We then incorporated blues and purples for the sunset sky. Prominent green leaves were added, then purple perennials, white daisies, scarlet poppies and fluorescent pink flowers. To give a 3D effect, the flowers lessened in size going up, then little dots, to give the illusion of fading away into the distance…and here is the finished piece:

As always, artist Rebecca guided us through the entire process. I actually think this one is the most effective ones we have done. It looked quite difficult at first, I thought it was maybe too tricky to achieve – however it all went surprisingly smoothly, and I am over the moon with the result! πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

Thank you as always for reading/viewing πŸ₯° Catch you soon. Much love, Lauren xx

‘Seaside and starfish’ amateur pub painting

Hi everyone! My latest UnicornPostbox blog post is progression photos of an amateur ‘Seaside and starfish’ pub painting…

We started out with orange sand before beginning the water. We used light and darker shades of blue to give a more realistic ocean πŸ’™ Then for great effect, we dabbed white with a sponge to give a softer wave, and created a cute little pink starfish in the right hand bottom corner. Also, we tried to give the beach more texture..

Becca is a self taught great artist who guides us through the entire process, a group in a pub setting which is a fab atmosphere..therapeutic but a lot of fun too! I look forward going every month with my friend Denise πŸ’•

Coming up next, I’m on with an amateur Africa/safari theme original artwork I’ve completed with my colour pens…so keep a look out! πŸ˜„

As always, thanks for viewing reading.. much love, Lauren xx

I must be honest, out of the other three pub paintings I’ve done, I found this the most challenging..when it came to silhouetting the two love birds anyway, lol.. but although I am only an amateur artist, I think they’re a little bit cute, hehe…I’m looking forward to the next session in a month’s time with my friend Denise! πŸ˜€

And here are the finished ‘Penguins in love’🐧🐧 πŸ’™πŸ’™

‘A Nightmare Before Christmas’ Halloween pub painting progression photos

Hi fellow followers, my latest UnicornPostbox blog post is progression photos of ‘A Nightmare Before Christmas’ Halloween special at a pub painting art class. Hope you enjoy! 😊

I have not actually seen A Nightmare Before Christmas all the way through, only snippets of it I am afraid. I was informed however that the main characters are Jack and Sally (the silhouettes), and the Oogie Boogie, the boogeyman is at the bottom of the painting.

It was really fun doing a Halloween themed painting session, Rebecca the art teacher guided us through the whole process, start to finish. It is a shame it’ll be a few months until the next session.

Here is the final piece 😊 There were a few attempts by others that were amazing, but I’m pretty pleased with the outcome, I like it, my amateur go

Thank you so much for reading/ viewing. My next UnicornPostbox blog post will be progression photos of a upcycled draughts table for the Children’s Air Ambulance πŸ’•

Much love, Lauren xx

Clarisse the Colourful Highland Cow painting

Hi everybody! My latest UnicornPostbox blog post is progression photos of a colourful Highland cow, painted at ‘pub painting’ – an art class in town, at the pub with my friend Denise, hehe.. hope you enjoy!

This was so much fun! The teacher was Rebecca, a self taught artist. I didn’t drink, saving myself for tomorrow night hehe, but I was the closest to guessing the weight of a real Highland Cow, so I had to down a shot lol. I really enjoyed the experience, being guided along the way with acrylic paints. She’s turned out quite colourful, bright and pretty I would say πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

The next pub painting is in a month’s time, the theme next time is Halloween, wahey, I adore Halloween! For the Children’s Air Ambulance I’m on with a blue rocking chair, and also I’m doing an Elephant diamond art, so watch this space πŸ˜› πŸ˜›

Thank you as always for taking the time to read/ view my blog posts.

Much love, Lauren xx
